Andrew Milne
|
Andrew is the creator of AndyCamper and the ‘imagination engine’ that drives the company forward. A family man and e-business entrepreneur, he is an outdoor enthusiast with a passion for most things powered by Jeep. Whether he’s snowboarding, backpacking, geocaching, paddling down a river or just out for a walk with his dog, chances are Andrew will have a smile on his face because he’s outside, and in some manner, using technology to heighten the experience. In short, he’s a Mac loving, video shooting, technology driven snowboarder with a young family and a well trained Airedale.
Prior to starting AndyCamper, Andrew founded bv02, a interactive marketing agency, where he focused on developing online media and marketing solutions for a range of companies across Canada and the North Eastern United States. He was a Regional Vice President for nurun, one of Canada’s largest Internet solutions companies, and served as the Marketing and Strategy Director for companies such MetLife, digIT Interactive and Kplus Solutions.
If you have ideas to share or wish to pick the brain of someone who is constantly trying to improve the outdoor experience, drop Andrew a line!

Name: Karl Rasmussen
|
Karl is a true outdoor enthusiast, believing that fresh air and physical activity are good for the soul! The changing seasons of Canada offer unlimited opportunities for Karl to seek out new adventures. Camping, biking and hiking in the spring, summer and fall turn into skiing, skating and snowshoeing in the wintertime. Karl’s been fortunate to experience the beauty of Canada’s vast outdoors from coast-to-coast-to-coast…and he still can’t get enough.
As a matter of fact, Karl’s appetite for outdoor adventure took him to paradise on the other side of the planet, New Zealand. In between his excursions into the Kiwi landscapes – above water and under it! – Karl developed his skills in child education by coaching basketball and leading day-camps for kids. He is still coaching today…but it’s football this time!
Karl’s playbook of travel and outdoor experiences is one of the awesome sources from which we create Andy Camper activities and adventures!

Name: Lynne Short
|
Close your eyes and picture a “soccer Mom”, and now you’ve met Lynne. Weekends and evenings you can find her involved in all kinds of activities with Gord and their kids. It is easy to spot Lynne in a group of people – she is the one who is halfway between her son “who is sprinting ahead” and her daughter “who is collecting the rocks and leaves for a craft”. This year Lynne is a T-Ball coach and part of the cheering section at lacrosse and football games. She is also doing the 60K walk for breast cancer for the 5th time. Every year it changes!
She lives by two basic principles:
(1) Don’t be a spectator – get involved in life.
(3) Give your kids the gift of memories and experiences – they will value them more than stuff.

Derek is a communicator (or a 'Chatty Cathy') that thrives on interesting conversation about music, movies, and the outdoors. With Derek's public relations background, you can be sure that he can spin any situation from sour to sweet with the use of few words. Throughout his life he's been fortunate enough to live in many of Canada's great cities, but its his passion to visit ALL the small unique towns and villages his home country has to offer. Name: Matt Davidson
|
Matt is the only person at AndyCamper who repeatedly tries to fly. Unfortunately he’s usually attached to a mountain bike or snowboard when these attempts take place. In his never ending quest for adventure, the perfect photo and the coolest video, Matt has used up at least one of his knees and 3 of his 9 lives. But that happens when you spend too much time above the clouds without an airplane.
When he’s not travelling to Whistler, cooking or dabbling with his latest art project, the AndyCamper team keeps Matt duct taped to a chair so that he can both heal and manage the music that pumps into the company’s development studio. Our resident bike mechanic and DJ, Matt is also the cool guy (geek to others) who brings the AndyCamper portal to life. If it sings, talks, dances or moves across the screen, it’s been touched by Matt. If we can’t figure it out, it goes to Matt. If it’s never been done, it gets dropped on Matt. Thankfully, the guy lives by a 36 hour clock. Actually, you know why we like Matt? Because the only things he walks away from are the big crashes (though sometimes he needs help).
If you have a cool story, video or idea, fire Matt a note.

Always pack: A Hammock
Motto: Send it.
Favorite Place: Whistler BC

Lives for: Pushing myself and the people around me.
Worst Moment: Breaking my knees.

Name: Kelly Khan
|
Kelly thinks every glass in life is at least “half full” and is quick to find the silver lining - obstacles are merely part of the adventure! Camping in never ending rain and snow storms in July on the east coast of Canada taught her that sometimes you just have to forget about the plan and take a side trip! When an intense heat wave swept over her adventures in the Rockies, she hit the Columbia Icefields and hiked to the snow peaks to cool off!
These days adventures are on a smaller scale with her 3 kids in tow. But smaller doesn’t mean less fun – you learn more from looking at things through the eyes of babes than anything you ever thought you knew about how things work!
In the words of Ms. Frizzle – “Take chances, Get dirty, Make mistakes!”
Trip Essential: Fun, fun, fun!
Always pack: Sunglasses
Motto: Adventure with security
Favorite Place: A hiking trail
Essentials: Water, sunscreen and bug spray
Lives for: The side trip!
